As you know, our class start dates are rapidly approaching and we are excited to be training in the discipline of JAZZ dance for our first six week intensives for our students enrolled in our Dance Program.
I hope that all of our students are preparing their bodies for the amazing training that they are about to embark upon. I recommend stretching each morning and each evening to increase your extension and flexibility. Also, you may begin working on balance by standing in passe' for an extended amount of time (a good idea is during commercial breaks while watching your favorite tv show). Make sure that you work both legs. Once you have found your center, try passe' releve', challenge yourself to hold it for one minute. This will give you an advantage when classes begin and we work on pirouettes, fouettes, arabesques, attitudes, and so many other popular jazz movements.
